Levelness | < 10mm(3m) |
Slope | Should not exceed a gradient of 3-5 per thousand |
The levelness and slope of the field are crucial for ensuring the smooth installation of artificial turf.
Vertical Deformation | |
FIFA Quality: | 6 – 11mm |
FIFA Quality Pro: | 6 – 10mm |
Shock Absorption | |
FIFA Quality: | 57% - 68% |
FIFA Quality Pro: | 62% - 68% |
Rotational Resistance | |
FIFA Quality: | 32-43NM |
FIFA Quality Pro: | 27-48NM |
This test evaluates how the field surface impacts the movement of athletes, specifically focusing on the resistance encountered during rotational movements. Using studded shoes, we measure the rotational resistance, which is crucial for player safety. If the resistance is too high, it could increase the risk of injury due to excessive grip. On the other hand, too little resistance could lead to slipping during quick turns or sudden changes in direction.
Ball Roll | |
FIFA Quality: | 4m – 12m |
FIFA Quality Pro: | 4m – 8m |
Understanding how a ball interacts with the artificial turf is crucial for maintaining consistent play conditions. The ball roll test evaluates the resistance the field provides as the ball travels across its surface. Measured under standard slope conditions, the distance the ball rolls is a key indicator. On artificial turf, if the surface doesn't offer sufficient resistance, the ball may roll faster than expected, posing challenges for players who are more familiar with the dynamics of natural grass.
Ball Rebound | |
FIFA Quality: | 0.60m –1.0m |
FIFA Quality Pro: | 0.60m - 0.85m |
A crucial aspect of ensuring that the ball's bounce on artificial turf closely resembles that on natural grass is the ball rebound test. By dropping the ball from a standard height and observing how it bounces, this test measures the rebound characteristics of the artificial turf , which are essential for player acceptance and comfort.
Construction Process
The permeable base consists of durable geotextile modules, with a depth of about seven centimeters per module. Each square meter is divided into uniformly sized spaces filled with reusable local soil or crushed stone.
SBR (Styrene-Butadiene Rubber) granules offer superior durability, heat resistance, and aging resistance compared to natural rubber. These granules are highly versatile, making them compatible with both natural rubber and various synthetic rubbers. Their excellent performance characteristics make them an ideal choice for creating resilient and long-lasting artificial turf surfaces.
In addition to natural grass, which naturally requires irrigation, many official sports events also include watering artificial turf before the game. This process is not just about cooling the surface; it also helps to eliminate static electricity, creating optimal conditions for athletes to perform at their best.
Over time, infill materials can compact, causing the artificial turf fibers to bend under pressure and lose their upright position. Regular grooming with a specialized turf groomer can effectively address this issue, restoring the artificial turf's appearance and performance.
Maintenance frequency: It is recommended to perform grooming at least twice a year.
Due to regular use, weather, and natural wear, the infill materials like quartz sand and rubber granules may settle over time. Regular grooming and replenishment of these infill materials help maintain the artificial turf's levelness, elasticity, and comfort, ultimately extending the lifespan of the artificial turf.
Maintenance frequency: The schedule should be adjusted based on the depth of the infill material on the field.
